Tall case brass dial clock, 1785-1795.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with a carved solid fret, three turned and carved urn-and-flame finials on fluted plinths, free-standing fluted columns with gilt capitals and bases at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top and a case door with a molded edge and an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, ovolo molding at the bottom and supported on bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved scrolls and vines in the spandrels, and a moon phase dial in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial, a calendar aperture, engraved foliate ornament, and the inscription "Shipman Norwich" surrounded by engraved cartouches. Eight day movement.
